Rookie quarterbacks rarely become viable Fantasy football picks in Year One, but with the first three overall picks in the 2024 NFL Draft being signal-callers, can one in the bunch buck that trend? Last year, C.J. Stroud finished as QB11 overall and QB9 on a points-per-game basis. He became just the third rookie quarterback selected since 2013 to finish as a top-12 Fantasy football QB. Caleb Williams (No. 1 by the Bears) and Jayden Daniels (No. 2 by the Commanders) are the leading candidates to counter the trend of Fantasy football rookies being unsuccessful rookie quarterbacks, but how high should they be placed in your 2024 Fantasy football rankings?

Top 2024 Fantasy football picks
The Fantasy football draft bible features 2024 Fantasy football busts, including:
Puka Nacua, WR, Los Angeles Rams: Nacua was one of, if not the, biggest surprises of last year's Fantasy football season. He went from an under-the-radar fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to WR4 in all of Fantasy football as a rookie. Top-five production is an incredible return regardless of the draft position in Fantasy football, but he went from going undrafted to needing to use a first or second round pick in the majority of 2024 Fantasy football drafts, which is quite the leap for a player NFL teams passed on 176 times before his selection.
"We had Cooper Kupp in our sixth slot last year, and the fact that he was a successful bust pick was due largely to Nacua," White told SportsLine. "The same could be true in reverse this year, as Nacua had an unreal target rate in the first four weeks with Kupp out but then averaged 15 PPR points the rest of the way, which is still great -- that's what Brandon Aiyuk scored last year -- but it ranked 17th at the position."
CJ Stroud, QB, Houston Texans: Stroud finished ahead of Nacua to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year last season as these were the only two first-year offensive players to receive a first-place vote. Stroud threw for the third-most yards (4,108) for a rookie in NFL history and his 23 passing touchdowns was the sixth-most for a rookie. However, he finished QB11 in Fantasy football last year (ninth in points per game) but is being selected within the top five at his position this year. He has a new weapon in Stefon Diggs, but that's still a drastic leap after playing just 15 career games.
"A few more interceptions this year and we're already looking at him sliding a few spots and not finishing in the top 10," White told SportsLine. "If you miss out on the top four QBs, make sure you're not the team reaching for Stroud next."Get the full Fantasy football draft guide over at SportsLine.
