How to Get a Necramech in Warframe (2024)

The Necramechs are powerful Entarti war machines encountered in the ruins of the Cambion Drift on Deimos. These giant machines were built during The Old War before Warframes were created; though they lacked intelligence, they made up for it with devastating firepower. The Tenno are capable of accessing these Old War Necramech relics by operating them in a similar way they control their Warframes, through Transference.

Due to the ludicrous power that Necramechs have in Warframe, they severely impact the speed and efficiency of completing the majority of open-world content. Farming standing for the various factions that require you to farm hundreds of bounties becomes significantly easier once you have a Necramech. Today we will show you where and how to get one of these ancient necramechs and how to upgrade them.

If you are new to Warframe and have never been to Deimos before, you will need to complete a few quests in order to access this zone. If you can’t go to Deimos, you complete The Second Dream quest, then The War Within. Afterward, you should have access to The Heart of Deimos quest, which will give you access to everything Deimos has to offer upon completion.

Where to Acquire a Necramech in Warframe

Deimos has two syndicate factions that players will need to farm to acquire a Necramech. The first faction is the Necraloid syndicate, which is the faction you must grind to access Necramech blueprints and weapons. To earn standing for Necraloid, players must collect Orokin Matrix from Isolation Vault Bounties, which are most commonly dropped by defeating enemy Necreamaches. Each Orokin Matrix can be traded into Loid for Standing.

Trade-inStanding Gained
Orokin Orientation Matrix1,000
Orokin Ballistics Matrix2,500
Orokin Animus Matrix5,000

Not only does turning in Orokin Matrix’s give you standing, but you must also have a handful stashed away in order to rank up to the next tier. Unlike most syndicates, the Necraloid faction only has three tiers you have to level through instead of the standard five. However, to progress to the higher ranks of the Necraloid faction, you must also farm the Entrati faction, which is the primary syndicate on Deimos.

How to Max Your Standing with the Entrati Faction

Entrati is mandatory to farm because the Necraloid has materials and currencies required to level up to the next tier, but these items mostly come from the Entrati faction. For example, to progress into tier one, you must have ten Orokin Orientation Matrix, 150 Void Traces, one Zymos Barrel Blueprint, and 20 Father Tokens. The Orokin Matrix’s always come from Isolation Vaults, and the Void Traces come from doing Void Relic missions. The Zymos Barrel and the Father Tokens come from Father, who is one of the members of the Entrati faction.

We highly suggest maxing out your daily standing for the Entrati faction before starting to farm Isolation vaults. Progressing to tiers two and three will require extra resources that can only be obtained from having a high rank with the Entrati. Having a high rank with the Enrati is necessary if you want to get a Necramech in Warframe.

Isolation Vaults

For farming Isolation Vaults, there are a few common things you will need to know to make the most out of your time. Each Isolation Vault has three stages and a bonus stage that offers a lot of rewards for completing. Stage one is always the easiest and involves collecting Fass or Vome Residue, which depends on the current Cycle in the Drift. After collecting the residue, you must plant the bait at the entrance and defend it to unlock the lower levels.

The second stage is another section that is blocked by highly toxic clouds that marked Infested enemies produce. Defeating these Infested is exceptionally straightforward and takes roughly under two minutes to complete this stage. The third stage is guarded by a Necramechm, which must be defeated to complete the stage. The amount of Necreameches increases with the Isolation Vault’s difficulty level.

How to Defeat the Necramechs in the Isolation Vaults

One additional Necramech is added per tier. For example, if you choose to do a tier three Isolation Vault, you will have to fight three Necramechs. When fighting enemy Necramechs in Warframe, you have to target their weak points, or you will struggle to bring them down. Necramech weak points are located between the joints of their arms and on their back. We highly recommend bringing an automatic weapon or a precision weapon to hit these weak points,

Using an explosive weapon will deal minor damage because the splash radius will hit the armor more often than the vulnerable spots. Still, any Warframe that excels with weapon damage or avoiding the Necramech’s dangerous weaponry is recommended to bring. Overall we recommend getting Octavia, Wukong, or Nova for their utility and damage that can bypass the Necramech’s defenses. It’s also worth noting that Necrmechs are weak to Radiation damage, so having a weapon or Warframe capable of producing Radiation will help your DPS.

What to Do with the Necramech Spoils in Warframe

After defeating an enemy Necramech, they have a chance of dropping extra Orokin Matrix or Necrameh parts you will need in the future to construct your own Necramech. Completing the first tier of Isolation Vaults is the primary way to acquire any Orokin Orientation Matrix, the second tier drops Orokin Ballistics Matrix, and the final tier drops the Orokin Animus Matrix.

We highly recommend farming the amount of Orokin Matrix’s you need to fulfill the unlock requirements, then farming tier three Isolation Vaults for the Orokin Animus Matrix since they give the most standing. You can find as much as you need even if you reach the daily standing cap, but it’s critical only to redeem any Orokin Matrix if you still have standing to gain; otherwise, save them for later.

Modifying your Warframe Necramech

After progressing to the second rank in the Necraloid faction, you will have the ability to build your Necramech. However, it would be best if you continued to farm up to max rank because only then will you gain access to the essential Necramach mods. Completely modding out a Necramech is expensive and will take an extended amount of time to have at maximum strength.

For a full Forma five build, we recommend having at least:

  • Streamline
  • Vitality
  • Intensify
  • Continuity
  • Steel Fiber
  • Flow
  • Rage

These are very standard mods that the majority of the Warframe player base will be familiar with since these mods also go on Warframes. Where modding a Necramech becomes difficult is its weapon. Necramech’s can equip Archwing weapons along with a few new options included with their initial introduction.

When you build your Necramech in Warframe, you will be given the Mausolon, which comes pre-installed with a Gravimag. It’s a great option and is often regarded as one of the best Archwing weapons on a Necramech. If you are looking for alternative options, we recommend the Kuva Grattler and the Kuva Ayanga. Both weapons require getting lucky with farming Kuva Larva and then killing the Kuva Lich they evolve into, but the grind to get these powerful weapons is worth it.

Mausolon Necramech Build

Since most of Necramech’s stick to using the Mausolon, we will give a recommended build that requires four Forma.

Our Mausolon build includes:

  • Rubedo Lined Barrel
  • Dual Rounds
  • Hollowed Bullets
  • Hypothermic Shell
  • Critical Focus
  • Contamination Casing
  • Sabot Rounds
  • Electrified Barrel

This build should provide significant damage with a decent crit chance and uses Viral as our primarily elemental damage. Viral is typically the best element to use in almost any situation. Still, the Infested on Deimos has resistance to Viral damage. Therefore, we recommend a Corrosive build if you plan to farm only on Deimos.

Wrap Up

That’s our guide on how to obtain and build a Necramech in Warframe. Acquiring one of these old war machines will dramatically impact your experience in farming Bounties and make the process easier. The drop rates of enemy Necramechs have been buffed since The New War patch dropped. As a result, each Necramach has a 50% chance of dropping a part. This buff, along with the faster build times for Railjacks, has made building these necessary machines significantly easier to allow players to do The New War questline faster.

We hope you enjoyed our guide on constructing your Necramech in Warframe. Further, if you are preparing to embark on your journey for The New War, then you might enjoy our guide on how to get Morphics in Warframe. As always, good hunting, Tenno.
